About
Alexandra Hidalgo is a Ph.D. student in Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue University, specializing in documentary filmmaking, film, women’s studies and issues of race and immigration. She teaches film and composition at Purdue, where her composition students produce digital videos and websites as part of their journey of learning how to write.
Hidalgo is also a documentary filmmaker. Her first short documentary dealt with the prevalence of breast implants in Venezuela. She will be filming her first feature documentary in New York City this May, dealing with the lives of six immigrant women and the way in which they use their cultural multiplicity to transform their communities.
