BALMATEE BIDASSIE, PhD conducted interdisciplinary research on “Healthy Lifestyle and Healthy Workplace” and “wireless real-time video exposure monitoring system (VEM) smart systems” in the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Purdue University. Dr. Bidassie’s broad-based experience encompasses computer science, electrical engineering, academics, statistics, research, project management and operations. 

Dr Bidassie’s industrial experience at Eaton Corporation allowed her to work with various global functional groups and in various leadership positions.  Recently, she was the manager of Global Engineering/IT programs where she formulated Engineering-IT strategies and implemented global product life cycle management applications.  She also served as a global Six Sigma Black Belt responsible for developing, leading, coaching and facilitating Design for Six Sigma (Product Development), Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma projects as well as mentoring 100+ candidates toward certification.  As a Senior Product Engineer, she was awarded a patent for developing a “Method of Grouping Message Identifications and Parameter Identifications for A Diagnostic System (SAE J1587 Databus)”.  In these roles, she served as the female Industry advisor and mentor to Society of Women Engineers, Western Michigan University.

Before joining Eaton Corporation, Dr. Bidassie held a variety of leadership roles to support key management initiatives with Social Intervention Group (SIG) at Columbia University School of Social Work.  She managed multiple research projects and developed networks of high level achievements, work estimate and lead high-performance teams. She also worked as a grant writer, system analyst, IT Manager, computer programmer and data manager.  With the research conducted at SIG, Balmatee contributed to five publications and poster presentations at various conferences.

From spring 1995 – fall 1999, Dr. Bidassie served as an adjunct faculty member at Bronx Community College, Bronx, New York.  Dr. Bidassie’s teaching experience includes courses in mathematics, electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunication and research statistics.  Her team of faculty was awarded a National Science Foundation grant titled ”Computer Networking Technology: Improving Science & Technology Education at Community College”  and she facilitated a New York City State Funded “Critical Thinking” summer program to better prepare high school students to develop skills for college.  She has been a guest lecturer (Statistics in Research) at Columbia University School of Social Work.  In 2004, she served as a Six Sigma Consultant on a grant which was successfully funded for “Remote Data Collection and Transfer as a Teaching Tool for Process Monitoring and Control” at Western Michigan University and co-authored one published paper and two paper conference.

Dr. Bidassie is President and Chief Executive Officer, Business Integration Management, LLC. Her company is a consulting company working in a business-to-business (B to B) relationship, developing strategies designed to generate fast growth through the integration of advanced concepts and strategies to increase a company’s capability to compete locally and globally.

Balmatee Bidassie received her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from City University of New York, two Master Degrees from Columbia University of New York:  Master of Arts (Statistics) and Master of Science (Electrical Engineer with a concentration in Telecommunication) and Doctorate in Engineer from Purdue University.  Additionally, Dr. Bidassie engages in various volunteer services focusing on educating and motivating young people (particularly under-privileged children locally and globally) to obtain a college education.  A selected few services are Junior achievement instructor and Big Brother Big Sister.
