I'm a writer and researcher who works at the intersection of writing assessment, applied linguistics, and literacy education. My methodological orientation tilts quantitative, with much of my work utilizing techniques and technologies from corpus linguistics and natural language processing. My goal is to explore how student writing is produced, taught, and assessed, in order to better direct pedagogy and administration. I also have written extensively on higher education policy and politics.
