About
I'm a fourth year PhD student in the Health Communication division at Purdue University.
I am interested in understanding, improving, and progressing research involving the communication of health information. As such, my research integrates elements of strategic communication and health communication. Broadly, my research focuses on two outcomes: (1) understanding how people form
health-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors; and (2) identifying effective persuasive strategies to encourage beneficial health outcomes. I am particularly interested in the emerging area of cancer communication, and more specifically, developing messages to encourage cancer prevention and detection behaviors. I address these interests largely through the study of health campaigns and interventions, and media effects research.
