About
I am a doctoral candidate in the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University, studying organizational communication.
My research focuses on organizational sustainability and responsibility. Topics of interest include: sustainable business discourses, corporate social responsibility, leadership, career and meaningful work, and workplace equity issues (related to gender, sexuality, race, etc.).
My dissertation (titled "Accomplishing Sustainability from Local Networks to Global Transformative Policies: The Work of Sustainability Professionals") examines how sustainability professionals accomplish their work, make sense of their careers, invest their work with meaningfulness, and position themselves in the dominant business paradigm. I make use of in-depth interviews, textual analysis of CVs, "mini" case studies, and reflexive journaling in this project.
Prospectus defended: November 11, 2011.
